FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28: Indigo Restaurant was packed to the rafters on Wednesday night as diners came to enjoy the Indian Festival of Lights celebration.

The Flatt’s eatery was one of three island restaurants to celebrate Diwali, a Hindu tradition which celebrates good over evil. House of India in Hamilton and East Meets West in Southampton also held celebratory events.

The BSmart Bolly Kids gave a dazzling performance on Indigo’s beautifully lit roof terrace and the food was pleasant and plentiful.

The only problem was that the restaurant seemed a little overbooked. While there was suprisingly  enough food to go round we were all a little short of room.

Promoter Belcario Thomas said that the event was a soft launch for the opening of “The Rock” roof terrace area which overlooks the water.

There will be regular events held on the terrace in the coming months including a regular Sunday buffet starting soon.

The evening also kicked off the restaurant’s “recession friendly” Indian Food Festival which offers three course Indian buffet meals for $29.95 and kids eat for free.
