Human Rights amendment won’t protect transsexuals

Dear Sir,

As a post-operative male-to-female transsexual exile I have a word of warning to Mark Anderson and all cross-dressers on the rock, especially those who may fantasize about undergoing a sex change — under Ms Webb’s proposed amendment to the Human Rights legislation, a chemosurgical facilitated womanhood will enjoy neither the legal status nor the protection of law afforded persons born of the presented gender.

Furthermore, while the passing of this amendment will at long last make it illegal to discriminate against homosexuals, it miserably fails to protect those persons who manifest dissociative gender identification from being relentlessly pilloried and driven beyond Bermuda’s parochial socioeconomic pale with total impunity — not only by bigots, but whosoever pleases — as happened to me...

Cornwall, UK
