Historical change brought about by struggle and Allah's will
However, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. The struggles and pain of the trailblazers and freedom fighters have been validated somewhat. This week saw Barack Obama become the 44th President of the United States of America. A proud time in history indeed and we have lived to witness it. Thank God, thank God, thank God.
This event brings inspiration that hope is on the horisen. Hope of Change for World Peace. Maybe it is not just a nebulous dream, maybe it will come sooner than we think. Let us pray unceasingly for that and while we are praying, let us become pro-active and initiate the channels of change; after all, God helps those that help themselves.
In Islam, Allah, the Exalted says that if we do not change, and be obedient and live in peace and harmony; He will rise up a people that will. So for our very existence, we need to mend our warmongering, unjust ways.
Some would say that it will take a miracle to change things; well Allah is the miracle causer. Miracles have been proven over and over again and God will continue to cause miracles to occur, you see, Allah says the signs are there for those who reflect.
Look at the miracle that took place last weekend; a plane turned into a boat! The Hudson River housed an airplane! And imagine, all 155 crew and passengers survived. Truly a miracle and a blessing from Allah, the Exalted. Allah indeed, guided the pilot of that plane and caused it to land (no pun intended) on the river safely. In the noble Quran, it is said that nothing happens but by Allah's permission - "and no calamity strikes except by Allah's permission 64:11
The belief that nothing, whether related to Allah actions or actions taken by His slaves, can happen without His Permission. "Your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses. [28: 68], and Allah does what He will. [14: 27] And, He it is who shapes you in the womb as He pleases. [3: 6]. As for actions taken by His creation, Allah said, Had Allah willed, indeed He would have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. And, if Allah had willed, they would not have done so. So leave them alone with their fabrications. [6:137].
So hold fast and trust in Allah, for He is the Knower of all things. Just be still and know that He is God. Ameen.
