WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10: A special after-school programme will be offered at Heron Bay Primary School thanks to the Village Pride Community Centre (VPCC).
The programme will be aimed at mentoring and assisting students at the Government school, as reported in the Bermuda Sun last week.
Education Minister Jennifer Smith joined with Vernon Temple AME Church Pastor Pedro A. Castro, Jr. to launch the event.
He is the chairman of the VPCC.
Students from the Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy have signed up to tutor the primary school students.
Pastor Castro said math and literacy tutoring would be the main focus, as well as homework assistance.
The organisation has partnered with the Eliza Doolittle Foundation, who will provide healthy snacks and dinner for students and volunteers.
The programme will begin on Monday.
