New Year's Eve parties
Here’s how to have a happy New Year
Unite to host events at Fairmont Southampton and Front Street
Relocated to the Fairmont Southampton, the Black Masquerade Casino Lounge and Venetian Ball caters to those seeking a more mature and refined New Year’s. “It’s a magnificent venue for a Masquerade Ball really. Not withstanding the now added convenience of being able to take advantage of a special ‘local resident’ room rate in addition to an array of fine dining choices from Bermuda’s top hotel,” said Belcario.
As is always the case with a Unite party, there is a colour theme. Or, in this case, the absence of it. Revelers are encouraged to wear black attire.
Focusing on ensuring that bar service will flow steadily throughout the night, refreshments are being directly overseen by Unite promoter Dennie O’Connor. “No one wants to wait in line for a drink, especially on New Year’s Eve, and at the Black Masquerade Ball party, no one will”, stated Mr. O’Connor.
The event will also feature Vegas-style gaming tables from 7pm to 10pm, awarding Heineken dollars and raffle prizes. Furthermore, guests can sample an array of Cuban cigars and a specially concocted Bacardi ‘Mask-tini’ drink.
They can also immortalize the evening at the ‘Vegas Photo Shoot’ while enjoying Dj Ob1’s RnB, House, Dance and Salsa tunes, as well as original remixes.
Afterwards, the Ball itself gets under way with Venetian masks, showgirls and high-class entertainment from the likes of Sabor Salsa dancers, saxophonists and live percussion performances. DJ Kaos will spin Hip Hop, Reggae and club hits throughout the night. On top of the tableside bottle service, guests will be treated to a midnight champagne toast and firework celebration.
To book the rapidly depleting VIP tables (seats four) and bottle service, call 747-1677.
Partial proceeds from the event will go towards the Bermuda Autism Support & Education Society. If you want to get involved, call 535-7277.
For the Black Masquerade: In-crowd Incognito event, attire is black (optional), while style of dress is ‘smart/elegant’.
The event is sponsored by Bacardi, Heineken and Evian, while taxi stands have been pre-arranged by Unite.
Tickets are $120, with advance tickets going for $100 before December 23rd. Tickets are now available at Sasch, Stefanel & www.boxoffice.bm

RAISING THE BAR BY THREE LEVELS
Partnering with BLU promotions, Unite are also working on a three-floor, three-in-one event, known on New Year’s Eve only as ‘The Complex’. Transforming Square One, Tuscany Restaurant and the Art Gallery on Front Street into a multi-faceted club, the idea was formed by owner Guido Esposito, catering to a fun-time party crowd.
The Champagne Lounge: a laid back area with comfy chairs and couches, a champagne bar (d’uh), extending porch-side to an outdoor European Café vibe, featuring complimentary hors d’oeuvres from Tuscany Restaurant.
The Hip Hop Room: Hot contemporary hits for dancers thanks to DJ Chubb. Several full service bars, and VIP tables with bottle service.
Cloud 9 under the stars: Square One resident DJ Jermaine leads the main room with dance, house, RnB and Reggae. Again, VIP tables and bottle service can be arranged.
Unite’s first collaborative event, they have embraced their purview of collaboration and partnership, working with BLU promotions to attract a broad cross-section of Bermuda’s party elite, rain or shine.
Tickets are available at Sasch and Stefanel and www.boxoffice.bm
Regular Tickets are $70, advance tickets $60 before December 23rd, 2005.
