First girl wins Saltus Reds player of the match accolade

Hiscox Under-10s League

Milan Butterfield scored an unbeaten 27 to guide Warwick Reds to a total of 69 in their 20 overs against Warwick Academy.

It was enough to secure them a 42-run win, with eight different bowlers taking a wicket-a-piece as Warwick Academy were bowled out for 27. Micah Perozzi scored 17 of those runs and top scored for his side.

Hannah Dennis became the first girl to win a 'player of the match' accolade as she took two wickets in an over to help Saltus Reds to a 35-run win over Devonshire Rec Gold.

Dennis also took two catches as Rec were bowled out for 48 in reply to Saltus Reds' 73 all-out.

Andrew Forgesson did the damage with the bat for Saltus, scoring 26.

Triston Wilson scored 24 and took three wickets for one run as Gilbert Institute beat Port Royal by 23 runs.

Gilbert batted first and scored 72 before bowling Port Royal out for 49.

Chakote Basden scored 32 and took two wickets in an over as West End beat BHS by 57 runs.

Covantee Tankard scored 11 as West End batted first and made 77, then Sanchay Bean took three wickets for one run to reduce BHS to 20-all-out.

Saltus Blue had a default win against St George's Navy, who could not field enough players. Somerset had a default win over Stars for the same reason

BSG U13 League

A top score of 22 from Taj Grant was not enough to stop Saltus being bowled out for 37 as they were defeated by nine wickets against Devonshire Rec.

Keishun Smith took three wickets for six runs while Kenshae Wilson top scored for Rec with 10 as they knocked off the runs with time to spare.

Justin Donawa produced a man-of-the-match display taking four wickets and scoring 38 runs as West End beat Warwick Whites by 40 runs.

West End batted first and scored 127 with Jahnai Ratteray also scoring 19.

Kyle Tucker took three for three to be top bowler for Warwick. Bryan Correia top scored with 24 in Warwick's reply of 87 all-out.

West End also played a make-up game from the previous week with Ratteray taking six wickets and scoring 54 as they notched up a 60-run win over Saltus.

Dale Eve top scored with 50 and Rahiem Steede was unbeaten on 33 as Western Stars posted an impressive 160 to beat Warwick Reds by 74 runs.

Steede also took three for two and Winston Woodley picked up three for eight as Warwick Reds were knocked over for 86. Khalil Burch was their top scorer with 21.

St George's beat St David's in the battle of the east with an unbeaten 27 from Christian Burgess shepherding them to a four-wicket victory.

St David's made 67 in their 20 overs with Curtis Minors the top scorer with 12. Jonte Smith was the top bowler for St George's taking three for ten in four overs.

Smith also made 20 with the bat as St George's made 70 for 6 in 17.5 overs.

BF &M Under-16 League

Cedarbridge vice-captain Jermaine Uders smashed an unbeaten half-century to lead his team to a comfortable eight wicket win over Devonshire Rec.

Earlier Makai Young took three for ten in four overs to reduce Rec to 84 all out.

J Wade top scored for Rec with 26 before Uders produced his 'player of the game' performance as Cedarbridge knocked off the runs in nine overs.

The Bermuda Women's team were denied the chance to make their debut in the league winning by default after their scheduled opponents St David's failed to show. Flatts also got a default win against Somerset after the west enders failed to show for their match.

Cleveland beat St George's by 10 runs in the weekend's other game. No other details were available.[[In-content Ad]]
