FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3: The Bermuda Sloop Foundation kicked off its First Pirates of Bermuda fundraiser today.
Part proceeds of the fundraiser will go towards 15-year-old crew member Nahge O’Brien’s leukemia battle.
Executive Director Denise Riviere said the event began at Albuoy’s Point where Sir Richard Gozney authorized the Spirit of Bermuda captain and crew by letter of marquee, to kidnap key community members for their riches during these tough economic times.
“Hostages were escorted onto Spirit by privateers and will be given until March 2to either raise their ransom or suffer the consequence of 'walking the plank'.
“Friends, family and co-workers can go to www.piratesofbermuda.com to donate towards someone's ransom or towards them 'walking the plank'.
“Sir John Swan, thought he got away, but privateers found and captured him in his Front Street office, Challenger Banks.”
Ms Riviere is encouraging the public to volunteer as a hostage or nominate someone through the website, www.piratesofbermuda.com.[[In-content Ad]]The Bermuda Sun bids farewell...
