Faith will let in the light and dispel the darkness
Isn't it wonderful and amazing that out of this condition, God spoke forth light? What a lesson to teach at the beginning of the world as we know it.
Yes, in times of darkness, we can speak forth light. God spoke forth light as His first creative act. God spoke forth the very remedy for the current status of existence.
Genesis 1:
1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Let's think about this for a moment. It makes good sense that God would teach people a lesson that they could use for a lifetime. What is that lesson? I shall call it 'The Lesson of Potential'.
Potential is known as the energy of position. In other words you do not see the action; you do not see the evidence yet, but you understand that the possibility of action is there. There is hope even when you do not see what you desire to see.
That ought to remind you of 'faith'. Faith is the substance of things hoped for (the potential) and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1 [paraphrased]).
No wonder God said in His Word that without faith, it will be impossible to please Him.
That makes sense, because it was a demonstration of faith by God that called the world into existence, into sight, and into order.
In the beginning God taught us to speak light into places and situations that are empty.
By faith you speak, and because of your faith you will then see the manifestation of what you hoped for.
You have to believe that. It is a trying of your faith. If you fail the test, you will never see the rest of what you hoped for.
If 'seeing is believing', then faith is void and unnecessary.
However, since the currency of the Kingdom is faith, then what you will receive is that which you can only hope for.
The Lesson of Potential turns into the results of that potential.
If you believe what you speak, you shall see the light dispel the darkness. And when that darkness is pushed aside, it is revealed that the darkness really was not empty in the first place.
No! Behind the darkness there was really everything you needed.
Look at Genesis chapter 1 again. When God spoke into the darkness, light appeared and then in the presence of that same light, the heavens appeared, the waters appeared, and everything else appeared as God spoke it forth.
The importance of speaking forth that which God speaks is vital. You must not speak selfishly, concerning your own wants, but you must speak in line with what God would speak.
In other words, what you speak must build creation or build The Kingdom of God.
Any time men speak to build their own personal kingdoms, you can be assured that in time those kingdoms will come to an end. It is only The Kingdom of God that will remain forever.
Perhaps in light of the darkness that Bermuda is experiencing in many arenas, Bermuda needs to speak God's light.
What would happen if our children learned how to speak God's light? What if mothers and fathers taught their children how to speak positively in the face of negatives; how to speak life in the face of death; how to speak a future in the face of hopelessness?
What a different world Bermuda would be. Indeed Bermuda would be another world; an island in a different state of existence than that which we currently see.
Alas, in the darkness of this moment of Bermuda, I choose to speak forth light.
On this Mother's Day weekend, I thank God for every mother who will begin Mother's Day by talking to God about the honour and duty of motherhood.
I pray that each mother will rear her child with God's creation in mind.
That is, that no matter what darkness you live in, you can speak forth light. Mothers, you have rocked the cradle and now your cradle is ruling the world. Respice finen
