Essential information for Cup Match
Cup Match holiday trash collection
There will be no trash collection on Thursday and Friday due to the Cup Match holiday.
West End trash will be collected on Monday and Wednesday. East End trash will be collected on Tuesday and Saturday.
The regular trash collection schedule will resume next week.
Recycling will be collected on Thursday, August 9 (west end) and Friday, August 10 (east end) according to the regular biweekly schedule.
Drop-off waste
Tynes Bay Waste Disposal Facility is open seven days a week from 7am. until 7pm. (They close on Christmas day only).
Ferries
The Department of Marine and Ports announced yesterday that in addition to regular Monday to Friday service which will be running during the Cup Match holiday there will also be a special Cup Match Ferry at the following times:
Thursday:
• Leaving St. George’s 7:45 am
• Arriving Watford Bridge 8:20am
PM Service
• Leaving Watford Bridge 5:20pm
• Arriving St. George’s 6:10pm
• Leaving Watford Bridge 8:00pm
• Arriving St. George’s 8:30pm

Blue Route
Operating the weekday schedule between Hamilton and Dockyard as of 8:30am from Hamilton, last departure at 8:30pm.
There are no services to or from Watford Bridge and Cavello Bay.
Orange Route
Operating the weekday schedule between Hamilton, Dockyard & St. George’s as of 9:10am from Hamilton, last departure at 5pm.
Pink Route
Operating the Public Holiday Schedule between Hamilton, Paget & Warwick as of 10am from Hamilton, last departure at 6pm.
Green Route
No ferry services to Rockaway.
Buses
DPT will be running a Sunday (holiday) schedule over Cup Match. However, there will be additional buses in place to cover Cup Match itself as well as a shuttle to Horseshoe beach for the cruise ships and eight sightseeing tours on Thursday. There will also be additional supervisors to ensure all runs smoothly. Maintenance will have on call staff to deal with issues of a mechanical nature.
Parking
For the convenience of those attending Cup Match at Somerset tomorrow and Friday these restrictions shall be in force from 9am to 7pm on those dates. There will be no parking on:
• Somerset Road from St James Church to the junction with Cambridge Road.
• Bobs Valley Lane from Sound View Road to Scotts Hill Road.
• Broome Street from Cricket Lane in a northerly direction to Beacon Hill Road.
• Cricket Lane from Somerset Road to Scott’s Hill Road.
• Hook and Ladder Lane from Somerset Road to Long Bay Lane.
• Railway right of way from Broome Street to Scott’s Hill Road.
• Scott’s Hill Road from Somerset Road to Beacon Hill Road.
One way traffic
There will be one way traffic on Broome Street from Somerset Road to Beacon Hill in an easterly direction.
• On Railway right of way from Broome Street to Sound View Road in a southerly direction.
• On Hook and Ladder Lane from Somerset Road to Long Bay Lane in a westerly direction.
Two way traffic
• Long Bay Lane from Somerset Road to Hook and Ladder Lane.
• Gilbert Lane from Long Bay Lane to Somerset Road.
Road closed
• Cricket Lane - closed to all traffic except to residents requiring access to residences on this street.
Traffic flow
Vehicles wishing access to the grounds of Somerset Cricket Club will enter via the north gate from Broome Street.
Public parking areas
• Sandys Middle School on Scott’s Hill Road.
• West End Primary School on Scott’s Hill Road.
• Somerset Primary School on Gilbert Lane.
• Warren Simmons Field opposite Somerset Esso Service Station on Somerset Road with entrance from Gilbert Lane.
