Emergency repairs to Wellington Lane

By Ministry of Public Works- | Comments: 0 | Leave a comment

WEDNESDAY, JULY 20: Derrick Burgess, Minister of Public Works, today advised that emergency repairs will be carried out to a portion of Wellington Slip Road after a rock cut collapsed onto the road on Wednesday, July 20 following heavy rain.

Engineers from the Ministry inspected the road after a report of a significant fall of loose debris at 7:00 a.m. this morning. The determination was made to temporarily close Wellington Lane whilst work is carried out to make the rock cut safe.

Minister Burgess said the works are a priority and he expected Wellington Lane to reopen again early next week before the Cup Match holiday

Residents of Wellington Lane and Wellington Back Road will need to use Wellington Hill and Khyber Pass as alternative diversion routes.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to apologize for the inconvenience caused.
