This means that professional teachers can earn continuing educational units for this course.
Attendees will be awarded a certificate upon completion from Walk Thru Bermuda under the Applied Principles of Learning division.
Let us learn the who, what, where, why and how of this upcoming seminar.
Who is Teaching With Style for?
Teaching with style is not just for teachers.
Unless of course, you would agree that everyone is a teacher at some time.
Perhaps you are a full-time teacher, instructor, or even a professor.
Teaching With Style is definitely for you.
But even if you do not teach professionally, this seminar will be of tremendous value.
Parents, pastors, camp counsellors, volunteer teachers, Sunday school teachers, bible study leaders — plus other group and organisational leaders — all have seen how much more effective their communication becomes when they do it with style.
What is Teaching With Style?
It is a six-part course designed to eliminate the number one worldwide hindrance to learning — boredom.
This course has very practical principles but uses the Bible as a foundation for excellent teaching for two reasons:
Jesus is universally acclaimed as history’s most effective teacher and is the world’s most quoted teacher;
The Bible is filled with examples of God’s effective and creative communication with mankind.
Therefore this is the best basis to teach about style.
Where did Teaching With Style orginate?
Dr. Bruce Wilkinson (author of New York Times best-sellers The Prayer of Jabez, Secrets of the Vine, and You Were Made For This), and Dr. Howard Hendricks, outstanding teacher, educator and author, got together to tackle some of the major problems with our present educational system worldwide. As a result, three teacher training seminars have been developed — The 7 Laws of the Learner, The 7 Laws of the Teacher, and Teaching With Style.
In order to tackle the number one hindrance to learning, Walk Thru has developed this seminar to help defeat boredom in the classroom.
The end result was this seminar, one of three, was created out of a tremendous amount of research and development in order to bring about lasting life-change in both teacher and student.
For the last 12 years I have been teaching Walk Thru seminars as a certified instructor under Walk Thru in various countries around the world including North and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
As a result, I have been amazed and humbled to discover that no matter the people group that I’m teaching, the problems that we are facing in education are universal, hence so are some of the solutions.
I was so surprised to learn first-hand that these seminars are transferable across culture and ethnic groups and it is my hope that this seminar will be one step to prevent school drop-outs in both our educational system as well as our Sunday schools.
