Eagle helps Bean earn share of spoils

Cornell Bean and Chris Grantier ended the Jack Daniels Golf Tour in dramatic fashion with both of them sharing top honours.

Grantier took the lead for most of the day shooting a 37 (+1) on the front despite a wet and windy day at Port Royal.

His back 9 started well with a birdie on the eleventh to pull back to even par but the double bogeys on the par 3 13th and 16th with a few more dropped shots left him standing on the 18th at 6-over par, landing him three shots ahead of Bean.

Double bogey

Both Grantier and Bean hit their drives on the 18th towards the right bunker but Grantier arrived up towards the lip while Bean’s ball stopped by the rake but left him a side hill lie.

Grantier came up short with his shot and was left with a bogey by his poor chip.

Bean’s finish left a buzz over the clubhouse, he holed his second shot from 100 yards for an eagle finish.

Though tying for first place Bean collected the $100 Sea Horses bonus because of his better finish over Chris Grantier.

Twilton Smith and Paul Adams both earned $70 for third for their score of 80.
