E-waste drop-off location moved to Marsh Folly
TUESDAY, JULY 6: The Ministry of Works and Engineering’s Waste Management Section had earlier announced that E-Waste Recycling Day will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 9am to 5pm.
Originally, Tynes Bay Waste-To-Energy Facility, Palmetto Road, Devonshire had been identified as the E-Waste drop-off location on Recycling Day.
However, because of major work that is currently underway at that facility, the E-Waste drop-off location has been changed to the Marsh Folly Compound, Marsh Folly Road, Pembroke.
The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this late but necessary change in venue.
The public is reminded that E-Waste or Electronic Waste includes any circuit board containing equipment or anything powered by either batteries or a power cord.
All items are shipped to a US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified facility where they are shredded and recycled.
