The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show was the main overseas entertainment for the annual event this year.
Yesterday, they performed in both the main ring and the lower ring, much to the crowds delight.
Owner of the company, Lee LeCaptain and his team did axe throwing, chain sawing, crosscut sawing, wood chopping and of course the log racing dogs.
It was the first time the company had ever used two dogs on the logs in a show.
Spectator Frances Chattergee said: “Most of all, I like the flowers and the plants, although I have to see the log-rolling dogs. That’s really why I wanted to come.
“I like watching the horses as well.”
The opening ceremony began at 1pm with Premier Paula Cox officially ringing in the event.
She said: “What makes a country great? It’s not its roads or its ways.
“It’s its people and the upholding traditions. This exhibition is part of our tradition.
“We saw the animals, we saw the delectable food stalls. We saw the exhibition on bees.
“We saw the horses and we also saw young people and not so young people whose features were brightened by smiles.
“We have to recognise that we have to preserve and celebrate the exhibition.”
Countless food vendors were on hand offering tempting treats including fried fish, mini donuts, snowballs and more.
Children were able to participate in sports-themed fun castles, face painting and much more.
For the animal lovers, there were sections dedicated to poultry, livestock and horses.
Plant lovers were able to see a beautiful showcase of a variety of flowers including lilies, orchids, sunflowers, birds of paradise and more.
The exhibition continues tomorrow.
