Do not plant a seed until man is there to take care of it

FRIDAY, JAN. 27: As I begin to write this column, I’m sitting in my car watching a few homeless folk. They are sitting too.

I am watching the water and they are too.

While I am parked in my car writing this column, they are parked on a bench in a park.

Yet the truth is that what I see and indeed, what you see as you travel the island, is not that which was chosen by God.

My mind links this visual with the message I ministered on Sunday, January 8. The message title was ‘A Utopia For You’.

Genesis 2:4

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

God created the original garden. It was the Garden of Eden.

That garden was a utopia. It was a haven — a reflection of Heaven on earth. It was paradise.

God created the first garden as a place where He would place His most precious creation, mankind.

Knowing how much God loves the world, you can look at the garden and get a good glimpse of how God wanted you to live.

Before God planted the Garden of Eden, He spoke forth light.

Responsibility

Yes, God does all things decently and in order, for the light would be needed for the process of photosynthesis.

There must be light in your life if there is going to be growth.

Even in darkness and utter emptiness, God still speaks forth light.

Before God would release rain onto the grounds of the garden, God had to get other things in place. Why?

Because rain would bring on the growth of seedlings and plants, but without a man to till the ground it would result in an unkempt place.

So, God withheld the rain and allowed a mist or dew to rise up from the earth, water it, and keep it moist and in a state of easiness for what was about to take place.

Before God would manifest what was already complete in His mind on the earth, God prepared the earth and then prepared a man to take care of it.

God had already formed herbs and plants in His mind, but He did not plant them in the earth until there was a man there who was able to handle the responsibility of that first Garden. 

What a lesson for mankind today — that you ought not plant things unless and until there is a man set there to take care of what is planted.

That is part of the reason why so many youth have grown out of control. 

The male seed that they came from is nowhere to be seen.

Far too many girls and women allow seeds to take root in their ‘garden’ and then there is no male there to care for or help prune the children as they grow from seed to sapling to their school years.

Your present places have to do with your prior and present choices. So, let me challenge you today to consider making your next choice with your future in mind.

Do not merely think about what your decision will do for you today, but think about what it will do for you, your children, and your grandchildren.

Adam learned some very important things in the garden, while he was alone.

Adam learned that he was different from the animals. He was of a higher intellect than the animals because he got to name them as God brought them to him. Adam was not an animal; he was in charge of the animals.

Adam learned how animals reproduce. The male and female got together and then there was propagation. So, the trees reproduced, the vegetation reproduced, and the animals reproduced.

All of that was quite fascinating I am sure, but they also brought something important to Adam’s knowledge.

Adam learned that he was made, but he was not made to be alone. That was a lesson God needed him to know. No trees, birds, bees, or beasts could satisfy him. He was different.

Adam learned to obey God as he lived to recall a specific warning of God.

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

There are lessons you must learn, and learn well, before you bring anyone into your home. Why? Because you will reproduce you.

As I sit here writing his column, I have watched the number of homeless fellows steadily grow from three to eight. This is further proof that no matter who you are, you will reproduce after your own kind and what you reproduce is the image of who you are.

God made the garden for mankind. God made a beautiful garden. Know that when God makes something beautiful for you, Satan is out to destroy it and you.
