AS Cooper & Sons is adding art galleries to three of its stores this week.

The company has partnered with Picturesque Galleries to feature the Bermuda photographs of Roland Skinner in their branches in Dockyard, St George’s and Hamilton.

Timeless

Somers Cooper, managing director of AS Cooper, said: “The Picturesque product will enhance our existing selection of merchandise and create a high-quality branding opportunity that is a perfect fit with what we currently offer at the AS Cooper stores.

“Roland’s images are timeless and are beautiful examples of our island at its very best.

“They are works of art that speak for themselves and we are glad to be bringing them to a wider audience.”

Mr Skinner has amassed a collection of more than 20,000 images of Bermuda’s natural beauty over the last 50 years.

His work has appeared in numerous magazine articles about the island and also on local credit cards and coins.

He has published two of the most popular Bermuda books ever sold locally, which feature his best work.

AS Cooper will create small galleries in the Dockyard and St George stores and a larger gallery in the main store in Hamilton.

There are plans to increase the Picturesque offerings online with a new website and for a line of high-quality gift items featuring the images.

The gallery headquarters will remain at the Design Centre at 129 Front Street, adjacent to the Island Living furniture store.

Mary Walker, the gallery manager of 11 years, will remain at that location.

The Picturesque gallery sells six sizes of matted Bermuda photographs.

Picturesque photos will be available at the three A.S. Cooper locations this week and the galleries will be completed later in the month.

Roland Skinner’s work can be seen at www.picturesquebermuda.com
