FRIDAY, JULY 23: The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs is encouraging the public to apply for the Cultural Legacy Fund for the fiscal year of 2010 – 2011 in time for the application deadline submission – Friday, 6 August, 2010.
The Cultural Legacy Fund is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Social Rehabilitation which aims to give a significant boost to Bermuda’s culture, heritage and arts through strategic, focused investment in the form of financial grants.
Grant proposals received from individuals, new or established organizations and charities are considered. The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs welcomes all grant applications as up to $200,000 has been allocated this year.
The goal of the Fund is to encourage innovation across the full spectrum of culture and the arts and to provide opportunities for Bermudian artists. The Department believes this event will raise the quality of Bermuda’s cultural, heritage and arts scene and raise its stature in the community.
In the process of determining successful candidates, the Department will thoroughly examine how each application matches the goals of the Cultural Legacy Fund.
The Cultural Legacy Fund aims to foster excellence in culture, heritage and the arts, increase access and participation in the arts and therefore this initiative will facilitate development and growth in culture, heritage and the arts.
All applicants must submit a type written project proposal with their application form. More information can be found on-line at http://www.communityandculture.bm/pages/cultural-legacy-fund .
