Cricket coaches pass qualifications

Some of the island’s top cricket coaches were yesterday awarded new qualifications after passing courses run by the English Cricket Board.

A total of 11 coaches passed the Level 1 qualification on the basic skills of the game, while eight more passed the level 2 grade, which focuses more on video analysis.

Senior coaches like Arnold Manders, Herbie Bascome and George Cannonier are likely to be heavily involved with the national team at junior level and could go on to take further courses.

The coaches awarded certificates yesterday were:

LEVEL 1: Brett Forgesson, Clevie Wade, Gershon Gibbons, Hasan Durham, Kenny Foggo, Lionel Tannock, Paul Ross, Rahji Edness, Terry Ward, Alfred Carter, and Jon Carey.

LEVEL 2: Andre ‘Doc’ Manders, George Cannonier, Ricky Hill, Herbie Bascome, Peter Philpott, Grant Smith, Arnold Manders and Courtney Trott.[[In-content Ad]]
