The six-time Grammy winning artist closed out the 2010 Bermuda Music Festival Saturday night at the Fairmont Southampton.
The songstress opened and closed with two of her standards - He wasn't Man
Enough for Me and Un-Break My Heart - mixed in two new entries off her new CD Pulse and spoke to the audience briefly about some of her tribulations of the past few years.
Braxton had been keeping it low-key as she took time to tend to her family, which includes her autistic son Diesel, and due to a heart problem.
She told the crowd: "They told me I'd never perform again."
She's proved them wrong and with new songs like Yesterday and Woman, she's also trying to prove she is relevant again.
Sia Spence performed one song with the headliner and wowed the crowd.
And even Malcolm Hollis, 11, got up stage with Braxton and sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow as well as Happy Birthday.
Hollis had opened the show with three numbers.
He was followed by the popular Chewstick Collective who brought a positive message.
