Bowl-a-thon to raise money for interior designer scholarships

FRIDAY, JUNE 10: The Bermuda Society of Interior Designers is to throw its 12th annual Bowl-a-thon to raise funds for its scholarship.

Since it launched in 1992 The BSDI has helped to finance approximately 40 students with their scholarship fund.

The award is open to all students who want to pursue a degree in Interior Design at the post-secondary level overseas. 

The event takes place on Saturday, June 11 at 6pm  at Warwick Lanes. It will bring together the community of interior designer, architects, and friends who will show their support for young people interested in this field.

Darcy Robertson, president of BSID said that last year there were three successful scholarship recipients and the year before, three. Commenting on how  much students can be awarded this year President of BSID said.

Though she hasn’t seen a large number of students pursuing a degree in Interior Design over the years, those interested are welcome as highly skilled designers are hard to find.

Last years Bowl-a-thon raised over $8,000 with participants at the event and cash donations. This year their aim is to raise $8,000 to $10,000 on the evening. Prizes went out to the best team bowlers, individual high scores, and most creative costume. Participants this year can look forward to winning a variety of prizes that include a Haworth Very chair, restaurant gift certificates, architect and design books, DVD/Mpeg 4 Player and more.
