Winter training camp
Big future for cricket’s Fantastic four
Western Stars keeper Jekon Edness, Somerset batsman Azeem Pitcher, Bailey's Bay medium pacer Jim West and Stephen Outerbridge, who bats for the same club, were all selected as Bermuda's representatives at the new world academy.
Players from Canada, Holland, Ireland, Kenya and Scotland - the five other non-Test nations to qualify for the World Cup - were also invited to the camp, as part of a drive to help them be competitive at the tournament in West Indies 2007.
It is the first time the International Cricket Council has organised the training camp, which will now become an annual fixture at the University of Pretoria's High Performance Centre.
Its aim is to turn raw, young cricketers into World Cup ready competitors.
Eight weeks into the camp, headed by Scotland coach Andy Moles, we caught up with all the Bermuda boys.
All four have got their eye on the ultimate prize, a place in the final 14 for the World Cup in 2007.
And the group have already moved to the head of a pack of talented players aiming to break into Gus Logie's squad over the next 16 months.
In their first interviews since winning places at the prestigious academy, a training ground for the non-Test playing nations, they tell James Whittaker about life in Pretoria, getting to grips with a gruelling fitness regime and their hopes and ambitions for the future.[[In-content Ad]]
