bermuda.com launches 12 Days of Christmas annual promotion
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 28: For the third consecutive year, bermuda.com launched its 12 Days of Christmas shopping promotion at noon today with new retail sector categories on board for the first time. Of the 14 participating retailers several new categories include public golf, wine & liquor and even baby retail in the Economic Empowerment Zone.
“It’s important for us to grow our customer base for the 12 Days of Christmas. We want to prove it’s an innovative promotion that can work in many ways, across many categories, no matter the geography,” said MediaHouse business development manager Glenn Jones.
MediaHouse is the parent company of bermuda.com.
The bermuda.com 12 Days of Christmas promotion uses multiple media platforms to reach shoppers on behalf of participating retailers in the lead up to Christmas. There are 12 specific days to shop and during certain hours of the day discounts are offered. A disc jockey is part of the bermuda.com field team, playing music and creating excitement in the store as consumers shop.
The participating retailers are: Brown & Co., P-Tech, Annex Toys, Hunt’s, Lusso, Boutique CC, A.S. Cooper Harbourside, Phoenix Centre, Gorham’s, CellOne, Heaven Sent Baby Boutique, Port Royal & Ocean View Golf Courses and Burrows Lightbourn.
The 12 Days of Christmas calendar begins today at Brown & Co., the traditional kickoff location. The full calendar and the latest deals information are available at bermuda.com/christmas.
The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Hon. Patrice Minors, JP, MP said, “In the upcoming days, consumers will see and hear a series of promotions featuring a variety of retail businesses who are offering some great, one-of-a-kind deals, at competitive prices during 12 specific days on the way to Christmas.
“Yet the larger message that we hope is translated to consumers is that in addition to the importance of boosting our economy, we need to support our local businesses, particularly at this time of year. We – Bermudians – need to be the sustainers of our economy by spending our dollars wisely, right here at home, because the people who work in this sector depend on our support.”
Home improvement store Gorham’s is participating for the first time and has made 12 Days of Christmas a significant part of its marketing strategy during the Christmas shopping season.
“This year Gorham’s is making the 12 Days of Christmas event an opportunity for everyone to receive up to 12 discount coupons,” said Gorham’s director Rod Farrington. “These coupons are worth at least 25% off a single item of $300 or less and those coupons will be available through links at bermuda.com.”
“In the face of an economic slump the most adept marketers will weather the storm the best,” said Mr. Jones. “I think our 14 retail partners are the ones who like to be aggressive, who enjoy thinking outside the box to produce results for their bottom lines.”
