Basketball expands its horizons

Men's head coach, Roderick Spencer and the coaching staff for the 2009 Island Games went to the Dominican Republic to visit Fabio Rojas. He is the president of the San Francisco High-Performance Basketball Academy in the D.R.

The coaching staff first met Rojas in December 2008. Since then they have nurtured a relationship which has culminated in several offers to host a team from Bermuda to tour and compete against club teams from various cities in the Dominican Republic. Coach Spencer would also invited to host youth clinics.

Although unable to accept an invitation this year, Coach Spencer and staff look forward to the possibility of taking a team on tour next year.
