Sims misses by one stroke

FRIDAY, AUGUST 10:

Golf

Michael Sims missed the cut yesterday at the third annual Grand Harbour Open in South Carolina.

Sims, who is one of the top money winners on the eGolf Tour, shot a 69 and 71 for a two round total of 140. He missed the cut by one stroke.

Ryan Nelson of South Carolina and Seamus Power of Ireland were the co-leaders with a two round total of 130.

Softball

The Summer Softball League is finalizing its registration and could start On August 20.

The league could see as many as five teams in the 5n5 division and four teams in the women’s division.

The number of coed teams continue to dwindle and it appears that there will be eight to 10 clubs this season.

Squash

The Red Hot Summer Squash Classic is set to kick-off on Friday evening at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Club in Devonshire.

Matches begin at 6pm on Friday and run through Sunday.

Matches on Saturday start at noon. Finals on Sunday start at 11am with the ladies final scheduled for 1:30pm and the men’s final at 2pm.
