Horror
To get a craved-for promotion, kindly loans manager Christine (Alison Lohman) must evict elderly client Mrs Ganush (Lorna Raver) from her home.
But the old woman curses her to be dragged to Hell to burn for eternity in three days time - with vengeful demon the Lamia tormenting her in the meantime.
As the evil force tortures her, she seeks out a seer to save her soul and break the curse.
Director Sam Raimi takes a break from the Spider-Man franchise to return to horror, the genre he made his name with.
He made history with the "video nasty" Evil Dead trilogy and this promises to be a return to that style of stomach-churning gorefest.
But as well as bloody horror and shocking scares, Raimi is also renowned for dark comedy, so this should be hilarious as well as hideous.
The PG-13 rating hints he cannot have gone too crazy though, so I doubt there will be any Exorcist-style scenes to give you sleepless nights.
Despite this, horror fans can't afford to miss this shocker from a master of the genre.
