Arts Centre at Dockyard organizes a host of fundraisers
FRIDAY, JAN. 27: The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard is throwing a series of “pop-up” events to help raise money during the tough climate.
The first of the events is Let’s Dance an evening of dancing which takes place tonight from 7:30pm to midnight at The Washington Mall just behind the Beluga Bar. There will be salsa, ballroom and zumba dancers and the general public will have a chance to join in the fun. All you need to take is lots of energy, a date is optional. Tickets are $20 and there will be a cash bar and a door prize is a painting by Christopher Grimes of the Spirit of Bermuda.
The second of the events is a “frog race” at the Frog and Onion pub in Dockyard on February 4. The game pits frogs, made by local artists, against each other using “jockeys” armed with a string and a stick to move them along.
There wil be a raffle and “a whole lot of hopping fun.”
The race begins at 7pm. The frogs used for the race will be auctioned and there will be a raffle and prizes.
The Arts Centre has other events in the pipeline in the coming weeks.
