FRIDAY, NOV. 30: If you want a romantic Christmas this year Cedric Thomas’s album Reflections of Life and Love may be just what you are looking for.

The Bermudian artist is offering discounts on the rhythm and blues album that was released earlier in the year.

The songs on the album are all romantic love songs including four cover songs: Aint No Woman Like The One I got by the Four Tops; For the Love of You by Isley Brothers; You Make Me Feel Brand New by the Stylistics; and Redemption Song by Bob Marley.

Lonni Bascomne wrote the title track Reflections of Life and Love for the album and the music for the album was arranged by John Woolridge of Platinum Records, known most recently for his anthem Proud to be Bermudian.

Thomas said: “John is a very prolific arranger and he is one of Bermuda’s treasures he is fantastic person to work with.”

Cedric sings lead vocals and is accompanied by Latosha Codrington.

“She has a beautiful voice,” he said. “John put us together because I wanted a female singer. He did some work with her and he recommended her to me and our voices just blended tremendously and I think it came out stellar.”

Many of the songs are produced with some live instruments incorporated into the sound. Keevil “The Captain” Burgess of Mix 106 is also featured on one of the songs called Move On.

Thomas said of the album: “It’s mainly rhythm and blues in the romantic vein.

“Certain songs I could dedicate to my wife who put up with me all these years but I would like to feel that it is dedicated to anyone who loves and goes through the premise of dealing with everyday life.”

Thomas has been singing since the 1970s when he was in a popular Calypso show called The Holiday Island Review with Don Gibson. When the popular genre turned to disco he decided to focus his attentions on his career in insurance.

Then in 2006 he released a single I’m Ready after a friend, the late Angello Mitchell, introduced him to a producer in Atlanta, Georgia. When it was played on the island’s radio stations he was given many encouraging comments from the public. “Since I retired then the juices started coming back to me in terms of recording and singing nad so I started working on this latest album.”

The album usually retails at $20 but will be sold at $15 over the Christmas period. For more information call: 333-1643.

Reflections of Life and Love is available in the following stores: Caesar’s Pharmacy in Somerset; Music Box on Reid Street, Mel’s in Washington Mall; Ed’s Barber Shop on Dundonald Street and Malcolm’s Barber Shipoo in St George’s. It is also available online at iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.
