$1,000 for good fielding
The Safe Hands Award returns to honour the fielding exploits of the players.
Last year's winner was Chris Foggo, the first wicketkeeper to take home the prize.
Rolfe Commissiong, president of Black Star Communications, said Foggo was also the only third St. George's person to win the Safe Hands Award.
"First was Clay Smith, then it was my star Rodney Trott and then it was Chris Foggo. It was the first time St. George's won it back to back.
"We just want to highlight an aspect of the game that often receives scant attention. We think that over the last 11 years of sponsoring the award, fielding has become one of the most entriguing aspects of the Classic as players vie for the coveted Safe Hands Award."
He said with plenty of new players in this year's Cup Match it will add extra intrigue as to who could win it.
Prizes this year include the Calvin 'Bummy' Symonds Cup, $1,000 and two round trip tickets to a getway city, a set of cricket whites, and other assorted prices thanks to sponsorship in part by Butterfield Bank and Bummy Symonds and family.[[In-content Ad]]
