‘It’s more than a fitness centre’
A new business opened on Monday that will have nine employees.
Horizon Health opened at the corners of Victoria and Parliament yesterday morning promising to bring the best of a personal fitness centre, a nutrition centre and a wellness centre under one roof.
There will be an organic café serving breakfast, lunch and healthy snacks. It will be open from 7am to 5pm on Monday through Friday and 8am to 2pm on Saturday,
Owner Caroline Tee told the Bermuda Sun she has been thinking about opening up her own personal fitness and wellness centre for the past few years.
“For the past six months I’ve been working on the project.”
She said what differentiates Horizon Health from competitors is “most place you can either get Reiki healing or you can go to a gym and workout for an hour. What we’re doing is incorporating everything under one roof — that makes us different. We have a health centre that has it all together.”
Ms Tee added it is not just about the one hour you spend at Horizon Health.
“We make it about your whole life. We try to feed it into everything in your life so you live better.”
She said: “I wanted to open a health centre that offers everything the health market can offer to help you reach your goals all under one roof. The centre will help people regain control of their health or go to the next level with their training. I look forward to helping others who wish to reach their goals and welcome anyone to come have a look and to ask questions or to stop by for an organic smoothie.”
“Horizon Health is a personal fitness, nutrition and wellness centre that focuses on the benefits of physical movement but also approaches the body in a holistic manner.
Reiki
“It offers fitness instruction, lifestyle and nutrition counselling as well as Reiki and crystal healing. Horizon Health is a CHEK-focused company and specialises in corrective exercise, functional training, body mapping and pain reduction.”
“As some of you may know, CHEK-lifestyle coaching addresses all bodily dysfunctions such as digestion, fungal issues, parasites, Helicobacter Pylori, IBS, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, hemorrhoids, dysbiosis, GERD, Duodenal, gall bladder and liver issues, Baker’s Cysts, hormone imbalances, prostate complications, sexual dysfunction and much more.”
Trevor Moniz, Minister of Health & Environment was the guest of honour and cut the ribbon as the doors were thrown open.
He said: “The benefits of physical activity are numerous and undeniable. Physical activity is an essential component of maintaining good physical and mental health. In combination with healthy eating, it can help prevent a range of chronic diseases including heart disease and stroke — which are leading causes of death on the island. I would like to take this opportunity to urge Bermudians to get healthy, to find a physical activity that you enjoy and stick to it.”
Healthy
He said Bermudians should fuel their bodies with healthy food choices.
“I wish to applaud Horizon Health founder Caroline Tee for having such a deep passion for the wellness of others.”
She said the company would have a total of nine full- and part-time employees.
Free functional circuit classes will be offered every Friday in January from 5:15pm to 6:15pm.
On January 4, the company is offering three free classes: HIIT at 10am. Barre at 11am and Pilates at noon.
Horizon Health is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 7pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.
