CableVision’s food drive collects 12 barrels of goods
Residents’ hearts continue to overflow with generosity.
A Christmas Carol concert to support Bermuda CableVision’s ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts food drive collected 12 barrels of non-perishable food for local Bermuda charities.
The concert was also hosted by Premier Craig Cannonier.
The non-perishable food items collected at the event have been equally distributed to The Coalition for the Protection of Children and Teen Services. Each barrel can hold up to 55 gallons.
Schools
The food drive benefit concert featured Christmas carols and showcased choirs from local schools, including: Bermuda Institute, Clearwater Middle School, Dellwood Middle School, Lagoon Park Preschool, Mount Saint Agnes, Northlands Primary, Prospect Primary, Saltus and Victor Scott Primary.
Premier Cannonier said in a press release: “The holidays are a time to celebrate and to show love and appreciation. I want to thank the children of Bermuda who participated in the Christmas concert.
“I also wish to thank Bermuda CableVision for making this concert possible and for helping to feed our community. Through the donations to the ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ food drive, The Coalition for the Protection of Children and Teen Services are better prepared for the holiday season.”
Bermuda CableVision launched its ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ food drive in April 2013. Since then, dozens of schools and several businesses and churches across Bermuda said: “We are thankful for the generous support from the community for the “Open Hands Loving Hearts” food drive. We wish to thank the students who participated in the concert and the Premier for his support. Many people in our community need assistance particularly as the holiday season approaches. We want to thank all those who came out to show their support.”
