BHF All Stars 6-9 BHF National

Bermuda Hockey Federation National’s Richard Minors scored field goals in the 7th and 10th minute of the first half before junior player Hemijah Bean added a field goal.

It was a confident start from the National side but the BHF All Stars came back through Dave Horan and Nigel Deane added another just minutes later.

But back came the National side and  Joshua Thompson added a field goal to make it 4-2.

BHF All Stars, though, stayed in the game thanks to Dave Horan and the first half ended 4-3.

Three goals after the break stretched National’s lead as Donovan Simmons struck twice and Richard Minors completed his hat-trick.

BHF All Stars’ Andrew Brouwer dragged his team back into  contention with two goals to make it 7-5 but the game was effectively settled by BHF National’s junior player Chris Pacheco, who scored his field goals two minutes apart in the 51st and 53rd minute.

Horan bagged another before the final whistle.

Women’s hockey

Bluebirds B 1-2 Budgies B

It was a tough game and with the majority of the Budgies being national team players, Bluebirds played very well.

Minutes into the match, Budgies went on the attack, but Bluebirds’ keeper Vicki Johnston saved a number of balls that were cracked at her.

Budgies were awarded a penalty corner in the 23rd minute and Jasmine Patterson scored from the top of the circle to put her side 1-0 up at the break.

Patterson then scored her second in the 47th minute with a slip into the left corner but Bluebirds continued to attack.

A solo run by Jill Finnigan was followed by a beautifully-crossed ball to find Joanne Smith-Barrow on the edge of the circle who scored from an awkward angle in the 56th minute to make it 2-1.

Bluebirds had now found their momentum and continued to attack but fatigue got the better of them and Budgies held on.

 Canaries B 0-1 Ravens B

Ravens’ Isabela Boonstra scored the winner in the second half via a 55th-minute field goal.

Ravens A 9-0 Longtails A

Ravens’ Emma Simmons scored a hat-trick of field goals in the 8th, 27th and 34th minute.

Team-mate Alex Wheatley added another to make it 4-0 before adding two more in the second half.

Kristen Ingelman, junior Carolyn Soares and Ana Abend completed the rout.

Wildcats B 2-0  Longtails B

Wildcats’ Cerepha Bridgeman scored a field goal in the 16th minute and two minutes later Stacey DeShield executed a penalty corner.
