Today, Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO) presented St. John Ambulance Brigade with a $10,000 donation.
Presenting the company’s contribution, Denton E. Williams, BELCO Chief Operating Officer, said, “BELCO is pleased to support to St. John Ambulance, which plays such a vital role in the community, assuring the public of swift and professional medical attention. We are grateful to all of the men and women who collectively volunteer over 9,000 annually to ensure the public’s safety and well-being, and are pleased that St. John is recruiting new, young volunteers who will benefit both from the training and the experience of giving back to the community.”
St. John Ambulance’s Assistant Commissioner Gareath Adderley said, “We are grateful to BELCO for this generous donation, which will help us to continue providing services to the community. Like so many of Bermuda’s helping organizations, St. John Ambulance Brigade has found volunteer recruitment and fund raising challenging in 2013 and over the past several years. We are especially grateful for support in these difficult times.”
