Stuart Hayward has guided the Bermuda Environment Sustainability Taskforce into becoming arguably the most powerful lobby group on the island.
As chairman of BEST, he has taken Government as well as the big boys of the construction world to task in order to safeguard his island home.
Looking back, the former Independent MP he says he was always inquisitive as a child and wishes he had pursued his musical talents further.
But the Fleetwood Mac fan’s ultimate ambition is simply to enjoy life and he counts his vintage Gibson ES-175 guitar among his most prized possessions.
Simon Jones takes a closer look at this environmental crusader.
