Smith: I failed to perform

“Not good enough” was the verdict from Tyrone Smith after he failed to make the long jump finals of the World Championships in Moscow.

The Bermuda athlete came seventh in his qualification to miss out on the final by one spot after a best jump of 7.89m.

He tweeted: “I failed to perform so I didn’t deserve it.”

Bermuda’s Arantxa King came 11th in her long jump qualification group with a jump of 6.36m to also miss out on the final. n
