Bermuda’s budding singing talent has been invited to take part in a Vocal Arts Intensive this month. From August 19 to 25 young people in Bermuda will have the opportunity to participate in the Summer Singing Experience.
The staff at CaBrailsong School of Vocal Arts have been working with youth in the US for the last two decades and they are excited about making their international debut here in Bermuda.
All roads will lead to Allen Temple AME Church in Somerset each evening for a week of workshops that will culminate with a finale concert for the conclusion on Sunday, August 25 at the Willowbank Conference Center.
Young singers can expect to learn a variety of choral styles that will help to hone their vocal ability and inspire them as they prepare to return to the classroom.
The event will be under the direction of Rev Carolyn Brailsford, a songstress and highly acclaimed vocal instructor who has served on the Music faculty of Spelman College and Allen University and now serves as the Minister of Music and Worship Arts at Bethel AME Church in Columbia, South Carolina.
The CaBrailsong team will be augmented by some of Bermuda’s most gifted Musicians including Mr. Jonathan Tankard, Mr Darryl Simons, Mr. Troy Seymour and others.
The workshops are for those aged 5 to 21-years-old will be held nightly Monday, August 19 through Friday, August 23 from 6pm to 8:30pm at the Allen Temple AME Church in Somerset. There will be a rehearsal on Saturday afternoon at 2pm and the finale on Sunday, August 25 at 6pm at The Willowbank Conference Center in Somerset.
