Carnival sale: Carnival Cruise Lines is offering a More = Merrier sale. If you are willing to bunk four to a room, you can save up to 33 per cent on selected sailings. You have to cruise by December 31, 2013 to take advantage of it. Three day cruises start as low as $119 per person for people in a quad room. Four-day cruises can be had for as low as $129 per person in a quad room.
Six-day Caribbean cruises can be purchased for as low as $204 per person in the quad room.
That might be a bit crowded, but if you are four singles on the prowl, Carnival is the party cruise line.
Or if you’re a family on a tight budget, it could be a cheap way to go on a cruise as it will cost you just over $800 for a week’s holiday (not counting the airfare).
JetBlue: If you’re a frequent traveller out to the west coast of the US on JetBlue, you will now have the option of purchasing a first class ticket on the San Francisco and Los Angeles routes. The all coach airline made the announcement this week it will be adding the lie-flat seats.
But there’s more than that. The new first class is a single suite seat that includes a closeable door for privacy. Currently, it
is the only airline which will offer that. The new first class on those routes is expected to start in early 2014. In addition, the first class seats will have a 15-inch widescreen TV with up to 100 DirecTV channels to choose from.
JetBlue believes it can make a profit on this luxury class seat and still beat the other airlines.
Lower prices and better seats than its competitors? If JetBlue can pull this off, it will have a winner.
Fly-Fi: JetBlue, the carrier will be upgrading its entire fleet with what it calls ‘Fly-Fi’ — a new high speed, satellite-based Wi-Fi product that it says will offer the fastest airline Internet speeds.
Oceania cruises: The line announced it will be upgrading all three of its older ships — Insignia, Nautica and Regatta —
between April 24 and June 6 in 2014.
They will get an upgrade that matches Oceania’s Marina and Riviera. The cruise line also announced that the Grand Dining Room along with Italian eatery Toscana will add more tables for two.
Holland America: HA announced its largest number of Canadian and New England cruises. It will have 48 sailings for 2014, which may offer a different, convenient option for residents who are tired of doing the Caribbean year after year. The departure cities for the Eurodam, Maasdam and Veendam will be Boston, Montreal and Quebec City.
