Summer Sundays begin with ‘Lift Your Voices’

The City of Hamilton today announced that the fifth annual Summer Sundays series will begin on Sunday May 5, in Victoria Park.

According to Mayor Graeme Outerbridge, “The first concert will be “Lift Your Voices”, a gospel extravaganza. We invite the general public to come to Victoria Park starting at 3:00pm to enjoy the music of many of Bermuda’s gospel entertainers. Some of the featured performers include: Bermuda Idol winner Latosha Coddrington, Big Snipes, Gina Spence Productions in Christ, Anointed for Praise Dancers, Olivia Hamilton and more.

“This fun, free, family event is designed to ensure all residents and visitors have an opportunity to enjoy the music they love, discover and support local performers. The expanded children’s play area will keep young ones occupied and allow families to have a full day of fun and entertainment. This Sunday, Deputy Mayor Donal Smith will give a brief welcome address and with the opening prayer will be given by the City of Hamilton Chaplain, Elder Kevin Santucci.”

Mayor Outerbridge concluded, “From May through to September the City of Hamilton will host Summer Sundays on the first Sunday of each month, except in August, when it will be held on the second Sunday of the month – August 11. We encourage everyone to bring their blankets, enjoy dinner and snacks in the park while listening to the music of Bermuda’s talented musicians and performers.”
