Why there is something about midnight, for mankind

What can I say about midnight? Midnight is not the most favourite part of any day, yet it is midnight that ushers in a brand new day.

Can it be that as dark as midnight is, it speaks to the end of one thing and the birth of a new thing?

Can it be that as late as midnight God wants you to know that it is never too late for a brand new day?

Can it be that God wants you to know that in order to experience your brand new day you have to pass midnight?

Recall that it was God who established time for the benefit of mankind.

Genesis 1:5: And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

In Genesis, God showed mankind that every new day brings the hope of unveiling something new.

It was not until the midnight of Day One that God brought forth the brand new firmament out of the water and the separation of waters.

It was not until the Midnight of Day Five that God began to bring forth the creation of all living creatures including his crowning work of creation, called mankind.

The truth is that each of you needs midnight. Today is done, and you need midnight to get here so that you can discover what is in the next day that God has waiting for you.

You will never be able to see, enjoy, appreciate and take care of what God has for you in your next day until you get past midnight.

Like a child on Christmas Eve, you are waiting for midnight.

Like a bride before her wedding day, you are waiting on midnight.

Instructions

Like a parent waiting to receive their child home from school after a long season of absence, you are waiting for midnight.

There is something about midnight!

Your new day! Your next day will not begin at 11pm. It will not begin at 11:30pm.   It will not even begin at 11:59pm.

It will begin at midnight. At the stroke of midnight, God will begin your new thing.

You have to be careful of one main thing as you are about to experience your ‘new thing’.

You have to be careful to obey God’s instructions fully.

The temptation is to obey God only to a certain point or to obey God until you feel that you have gotten a grasp on the situation and then you can take it from there.

No, only obedience will reveal the full slate of blessings that God has waiting just for you.

Exodus 12:19: Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.

20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Our God is amazing!  God instructs the people to use the week to get used to eating bread that is made, looks and tastes different.

This unleavened bread would be cooked very quickly!  There would not be the usual one to two hours of allowing the fermentation process of the yeast and sugars in the bread to produce the gas carbon dioxide and make the dough rise.

No!  The move that God would make at midnight was going to be a quick one. They would have to eat and run!

Exodus 12:29: And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

God wanted His people, the Israelites, to be able to move as soon as he gave the word to Moses.

God was about to unleash a plague on the Egyptian people that would result in quick death and then a quick request to Moses and Aaron to take the people and go!  That happened at the stroke of midnight!

Midnight means your new day is coming.

Embrace midnight as you embrace your new day.

Blessings Abound! Respice finem.
