Tai Home Spa held its grand opening this afternoon complete with a ribbon cutting by Sir John Swan.

The spa is owned by Juan Smith and has been opened since December, offering clients a variety of Asian inspired treatments.

The grand opening began at 4pm and will finish at 7pm.

Guests were treated to a cheese plate, sushi, a fruit platter, vegetable platter and authentic Thai curries with rice.

Mr Smith said: “It’s a relief at this point. I was painting up until an hour ago.

“But it sounds like from the comments from Sir John and what I have been hearing from other people, they’re really happy about the experiences they’re getting.

“It seems personal and I’ve been hearing it’s a good price point.”

Sir John when cutting the ribbon said: “This afternoon as we celebrate the official opening of this spa, these lovely ladies and gentleman will take care of your bodily and spiritual needs.

“Not only are you going to get a massage, but you can also get a facial, pedicure and you can have good company because the people here are very friendly.”

Spa manager Bhola Bhattarai said the business is going well with a mix of male and female clients looking for a unique experience such as the four-hand massage of a Balinese massage.

“People who are used to the bigger spas are actually our customers now.

“Also, the product line is very natural and it’s good for you.”

Tai Home Spa is located on Laffan Street. For more information call 297-2347.
