A French Canadian artist will perform on the island next month at an event for the Alliance Francaise des Bermudes.
Tommy Gagnon will perform a live compilation of some of the greatest French hits such as Rosie from Francis Cabrel and Heureux d’un Printemps from Paul Piché .
The event will be held at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club on May 4.
Organizer David Gaudreault said: “Tommy Gagnon is a young growing artist in Quebec and Bermuda will be his first international performance outside Canada.
“Tommy is an enthusiastic singer and guitarist with a large repertoire of French songs which we believe should please the Bermudian community who would love to experience both iconic French songs... as well as more contemporary songs such as Garou or Patrick Bruel.
“Tommy Gagnon will also play some of his own compositions at the guitar.”
Asked why the community should attend the event, he said: “This is a unique and rare opportunity for the Bermudian community to experience a different musical event with live French songs which are full of refreshingly beautiful melodies, great vocals and thought.
“The Alliance Francaise believes it will be a great evening with the participation of local artist Tony Bari and a chance to socialise with other Francophiles at the Royal Dinghy Club, a perfect location to have an enjoyable evening under the stars.
“Drinks will be available for purchase.”
The tickets for the event, which will be held on Saturday May 4th, from 8pm at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, are on sale at Pulp & Circumstance for a price that varies between $30 and $35.
There will also be limited tickets at the door.
