A spring fair to boost community spirit and fellowship will be held next weekend.

Three churches have come together to host the community fun day — St John’s, St Monica’s and St Augustine’s.

The fair will be held on April 27 from 10am to 4pm on the grounds of St John’s.

Spokeswoman Joan Peck explained the churches are having a spring fair, “the purpose of which is to boost community spirit/fellowship with fun and games for the family promoting togetherness in Bermuda.

“Our three churches provide meals and food bags for those that struggle in these challenging times.

“In addition, our youth group works both within the church and throughout the wider Pembroke community to provide guidance and opportunities for the youth in this particular troubled area.

“The proceeds raised from this fair will be used to fund these important outreach ministries to ensure their continuity in the future.”

Entry to the fair is free but guests are encouraged to bring a tin of food to aide the community feeding programmes.

“There are door prize tickets to buy once you are in St John's grounds.

“Also $1 tickets will be on sale to buy goods, play games and buy food.

“Proceeds will all go toward our Outreach
programmes.

“We do have some free entertainment through out the day.”

Asked what she would say to encourage the community to attend, Ms Peck said: “I would say that this is a great opportunity for the whole of Bermuda to participate in a wonderful community fair.

“To boost community spirit with fun and games in a family atmosphere, to bring awareness and support for our community feeding programmes in the particularly troubled areas of the Pembroke Parish.

“To raise funds for our food voucher programme and to raise funds to keep and expand the Youth Ministry in the Pembroke Parish areas.

“All proceeds will be used to assist the parish's outreach ministries to continue for the benefit of the community.

“What better reason to come & support our fair?” n
