Burgess 'very proud' to be elected deputy leader
New Deputy Premier Derrick Burgess last night expressed his joy at his election, saying: “I’m proud to serve my country in this capacity, very proud.” He would not comment on whether he hoped to keep his Ministry of Works and Engineering portfolio.

Body identified as Olympia Marie Corrent
MONDAY, NOV. 8 UPDATE: Police have now identified the body found in a Victoria Street, Pembroke, residence as that of 64-year-old Olympia Marie Corrent. Ms Corrent was the sister of UBP MP Patricia Gordon-Pamplin and former Premier Pamela Gordon.

Marc Bean to stand for PLP in Warwick South Central
MONDAY, NOV. 8: Marc Bean was rolled out today as the PLP’s candidate for former Premier Ewart Brown’s old seat in Warwick South Central. Former Senator Mr. Bean will stand in the by-election in constituency 26 against the BDA's candidate Sylvan Richards Jr.
Family anguish after woman's death
Olympia Corrent, whose body was found at her home on Saturday, died of natural causes, police revealed yesterday. The 64-year-old daughter of labour pioneer Dr E.F Gordon and sister to former Premier Dame Pamela Gordon and MP Pat Gordon-Pamplin was found dead at the family homestead in Hamilton.

Election hopeful Devrae Noel-Simmons has gone through many transformations in his life. He’s been a semi-pro footballer for the Oregon Thunderbolts, a champion bodybuilder, a national team rugby player and family man and entreprenour.

People need to find their voice for change

Parliamentary committee to investigate increasing gang violence
THURSDAY, NOV. 18: A joint select committee on crime will now have meetings that are open to the public. The Parliamentary Joint Select Committee on Violent Crime and Gun Violence in Bermuda was set up at the end of the last Parliamentary session.
Census to start up again
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18: Half of the Island’s homes have been visited by census workers, leaving 15,000 more households to be interviewed.
