LETTERS

Letter - History cannot be erased, no matter how painful it is

I read the article by your Columnist Tom Vesey (February 13) and thought " I must be getting soft!" I approve of, or agree with, enough of Mr. Vesey's articles that when I do not, I pay attention anyway.

Letter - It was wrong to refer to my 'self-imposed exile'

In the course of my 20 years as a professional singer I have, as you can certainly imagine, endured my fair share of reviews of my performances.

Letter - Welcome back from the frozen north, Bryan Darby

Re veteran reporter marooned in his Canadian condo, held hostage by harsh winter weather, (film and tv rights still to be negotiated).

Letter - We can't speak softly about a brutal racial history

Once again we have to hear yet another reason why white folks don't want to talk about and therefore acknowledge our history.

Letter - We should boycott the Big Conversation

For we cannot do anything against the truth but for the truth".1 Cor.13:8

Letter - BFA needs to improve facilities

As a current youth coach and former commercial league player I'd like to add my voice to the arguement surrounding the BFA and the proposed scrapping of the Commercial League.

Letter - Hallet's crying wolf over desalination plant

Is the word catastrophe too lightly used to keep getting our attention?

Letter - Constructive dialogue will lead us to real solutions

I would like to express my appreciation to those who have submitted informative and compelling responses to my two articles about water conservation, printed in the Bermuda Sun [February 27 & March 6].

Letter - I can't see benefits of reverse osmosis plant

While I applaud Ms Hallett's commitment to the environment I must take issue with some of her comments. Although not an oceans specialist I am a water engineer with almost 40 years of experience, 25 of them in Bermuda.

Letter - Well designed desalination plants are sustainable

Rowan Hallett's article entitled 'Making saltwater drinkable could leave a sour legacy' is wide of the mark and I feel compelled to respond.

Letter - Why white people should not lead the charge for equality

Bermuda's colonial system and Westminster style of governance makes any apology symbolic and unsubstantiated.

Letter - It's helpful to know all the facts before you sully someone's reputation

Stuart Hayward's got some crust saying that LeYoni Junos' reputation has been attacked and sullied after her recent court case.

Letter - CURE: we stand by our data and urge all employers to embrace equality

The Commission for Unity and Racial Equality (CURE) joins those who applaud the Bermuda Employers Council (BEC) for their contribution to dialogue on employment trends in Bermuda.

Letter - Hotel discount promotion will boost visitor numbers

The United Bermuda Party would like to commend hoteliers and Bermuda Tourism for its 48-hour, 50 per cent discount promotion.

Letter - Half Marathon was an ace race thanks to supporters

I'd like to congratulate the organizers of the Bermuda Derby Half Marathon for putting on such wonderful event.
