It was heartbreak for Tre Houston a day after he thought he had broken Devon Bean's long-standing 100m record Saturday afternoon in Clermont, Florida.

Houston ran a 10.22 to better Bean's mark of 10.27, which was set in the lead-up to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Houston, however, received bad news on Sunday as the record was not ratified as the wind gauge had a malfunction during his event.

He is keeping his head up though knowing he is capable of running that fast. He posted on Facebook: "The amount of love and support I've received from yesterday has been great.... I want to thank you all.... Unfortunately the record was not ratified... back the drawing board I go."
