A fundraising runner who took to the streets of Bermuda earlier this year has completed his mission to run 12 marathons in 12 months.
Andrew O’Brien set himself the gruelling challenge to raise funds for the ISIS Foundation after a life-changing trip to Uganda in 2012.
Mr O’Brien, who works as an actuary for Aspen in London, arrived in Bermuda in January to take part in the marathon.
The Bermuda race was his eighth marathon in eight months.
Since then he has taken part in further marathons in Atlanta, Brighton and Madrid.
The father-of-one completed the 12-in-12 challenge on May 18 when he finished the Copenhagen Marathon.
Mr O’Brien has now raised nearly $10,000 for the charity.
He said: “I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me over the last 12 months.
“It’s been an incredible journey and the money raised means so much to the people of Kiwoko.
“It makes such a difference to the lives of so many.”
