Scores of islanders descended on Carter House in St David's today to celebrate Onion's Day.
Local residents joined tourists at the event designed to highlight Bermuda's strong historic links with the vegetable, as well as illustrate why Bermudians are called 'onions'.
During the course of the day they had the chance to sample some fine onion soup cooked over a wood fire as well as range of other onion delights.
There was also plenty of onion-themed merchandise on offer from books to kitchen-ware.
Local artists were on site to capture the scene, while Ronnie Cameau was on hand to provide tips on how to make a traditional onion basket.
The event, which was organized by Rick Spurling, president of the St David's Island Historical Society.
