Street style: Less is definitely more
Juliana Gibbons, 21, is a fashion designer from Devonshire who is about to graduate from Parsons in New York.
Her ambition is to become a private label designer “with the freedom to create clothing without replacing design integrity and innovation with mass market appeal, or concern for extreme functionality”. Her work will feature in the local designer show during the week.
Describe your style
My style is about versatility, clothing for me is a way to be creative and to show the world how I feel. I love pieces that I can wear in
different ways and change myself, as a designer I gravitate towards that. Less is definitely more, making a statement is about standing out without being obvious.
I love drapery and mixing textiles, I try to find pieces that are subtly different, and simple enough that I can create my own look around them.
Walk us through your outfit
The necklace in the main image came from a Brooklyn-based designer at Brooklyn Flea in Williamsburg.
In the second image (far right), the necklace and bracelets are from Tiffany’s.
The black and copper rings are from Anthropology and the silver ring in the middle came from a vintage store.
The bag is from Louis Vuitton.
The top two bracelets in the second image (centre) were designed by a product designer from Parsons, and the copper bangles are from Gibbons Company.
The Gold clutch is Juicy Couture.
The screen printed vest was part of my pre-thesis capsule collection.
Three products you can’t live without
I can’t live without Bond No.9 West Side Perfume, waterproof mascara and hair dye!
What outfit makes you feel sexiest.
I think its hard to go wrong with an amazing pair of shoes and anything black! Black nails, or black makeup or accessories make it even better!
Most stylish Bermudian?
My grandmother Lady Lully Gibbons, from head to toe.
She probably knows more than I do!

Florence Welch always looks interesting — the perfect mix of beautiful and creative.
