Jones and Lloyd-Hines win at Riddell’s Bay

The final round of the 2014 Men’s Senior Amateur Championship came down to a battle between Arthur Jones and Hav Trott.

Jones had a two-stroke lead over his rival going into the final’s day play at Riddell’s Bay Golf & Country Club.

Jones shot a 72 to Trott’s 73 and won with a three-round total of 213. Trott was a clear second at 216 while David Pickering finished third with a final round of 78 to complete the Championship with a 231.

The defending champion Jeffrey Lindo never really challenged the leaders in this event and trouble on the 18th hole added to his woes and he ended up taking fourth place with a 234.

 In the Ladies Championship flight, Kathy Lloyd-Hines was a convincing winner having led from the start and ended 17 shots ahead of her next competitor, Katrin Burnie. Lloyd-Hines had a total of 241 to Burnie’s 258. Linda Down was third with a 260.
