The IOD fleet never seems to escape Bermuda International Invitational Race Week without a ‘repair’ night.
Monday was no different — in the last race of the day, Ed Kavle of Fishers Island broke rule 10 against Henry Arnold of Royal Thames Yacht Club.
The unfortunate port/starboard incident resulted in Kavle retiring (RET) from the race and Arnold now waiting on average points for the regatta (SI Appendix B 5).
Sadly, Arnold’s boat for the day, Solna (#11) received a broken mast and Kavle’s boat (Blitz, #6) has suffered a broken forestay and other rigging damage.
