The Norwegian Breakaway is back in Dockyard today for her first trip of the 2014 cruise season.
The super-liner, which carries more than 4,000 passengers, spent her inaugural season sailing between New York and Bermuda last year.
And she’s due into the West End again this morning despite a minor delay over the weekend.
US media reported on Sunday that the ship had to be tugged back into New York after developing a problem with its propulsion system.
But Norwegian Cruise Line later claimed the there were no propulsion problems, just a ‘small technical maintenance item on one of the two azipods’.
Despite the hiccup, on what is the ship’s one-year anniversary, the liner was expected to arrive in Bermuda on time today.
She will be making a total of 22 trips between New York and Bermuda this summer.
The Breakaway will be joined by the Celebrity Summit today in Dockyard, which is arriving from Cape Liberty.
Both vessels will be in Bermuda for two nights before heading back to the US on Friday.
It’s also due to be a busy weekend in Dockyard.
The Explorer of the Seas is back in the West End this Saturday and will be followed in on Sunday by the Norwegian Dawn and the Grandeur of the Seas.
Apart from the cruise arrivals, there’s just the usual container ships this week.
The Somers Isles arrived in Hamilton yesterday and will be replaced by the Islander tomorrow.
The Oleander makes up the shipping schedule for this week when she arrives in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
